Tomatillo Panela Salad


This is a salad that is perfect for this spring days. Very refreshing!  Panela is a white, light, fresh cow’s milk cheese. Combined with tomatillos, cilantro and lime juice becomes a delightful salad or a great appetizer. Serve it over corn tortilla chips and top it with salted yogurt.




4 Oz Panela cheese

5 Medium tomatillos

2 Limes (juice)

Bunch of fresh cilantro

1/4 Cup Plain greek yogurt

Salt and Pepper



  • Finely chop cheese, tomatillos and cilantro


  • Add lime juice, salt and pepper and combine


  • Season plain greek yogurt with salt and pepper
  • Serve over corn tortillas and top it with the yogurt

  1. I like your set of plates, they fit in so well with the food inside. Many people think that dining accessories are not important but since we need five senses to fully enjoy the meal so we should treat our eyes better. Love your post 🙂
